Making schooling fun in anyone's language
Preschoolers are listening to stories in Spanish and five-year-olds are reading Indonesian storybooks as part of two languages trials in South Australian schools and preschools aimed at boosting children's English literacy skills through learning second languages.
Education Minister Jay Weatherill says the idea behind the trials is to get children learning other languages at a very early age – when children are most receptive to learning.

SA making strong progress in 10 year plan
South Australia has made significant progress towards achieving many of the targets outlined in its Ten Year Strategic Plan, according to the latest progress report released today.
Premier Mike Rann said the report shows that of the 98 targets, two-thirds have either been achieved, are on track or are within reach.
