Ban on cigarette displays starts today

New regulations banning cigarette displays at supermarkets, delicatessens and other general retailers come into effect from today.


Tobacco products will now need to be out of sight of customers at South Australian retail outlets. Health Minister John Hill said the new regulations will support people who are trying to quit.

2011 Road Toll - Our second lowest on record

South Australia is set to record its second lowest road toll on record as 2011 draws to a close.


Road Safety Minister, Jennifer Rankine says this year’s road toll of 102 fatalities is currently three above the record low of 99 deaths in 2008, but around 14 per cent lower than last year’s figure of 118.
